Mr. Mom and a broken finger

Mike has been such a good daddy! He got to stay home all week last week. It was actually really funny, the first day watching Linc all day, I called him on the way home and was going to run some errands, but he just said, "No, get home now!" Of course he didn't mean it in a rude way, but I just love that he now understands how crazy it can get being at home and having the little man all day long. Mike got to play with Linc, go to the gym almost every day (they have babysitting there), and just be at home. He also started playing in a volleyball league that plays every tue and thurs with some of our friends.

And then Wed came... Him and Jason went hiking somewhere out past Manila to some caves while Amanda had Linc. For a long reason, he was moving some big rocks back to their original place, and he accidentally dropped one on his finger and smashed it. Poor Mikey! I was still at work and I get a text saying "Broke finger, on way to see you" I got to take his xrays, that was kind of fun! He broke the tip of his finger. He doesn't think I give him enough sympathy, but I do feel really bad for him! I couldn't handle the pain, I'm a baby. He's been a trooper!

I'm so grateful to Amanda! She kept Linc for us the whole time Mike was with her husband and while he was at the hosp. And then when we went to pick him up, they had ordered pizza for us. It was fun to get to hang out and chat for a bit. I love those two! Amanda is going to keep watching Linc once or twice a week while I'm still working full-time, and Shilayna wants to have him the rest of the week. We are going to miss Marlene for a while!!! She's been wonderful with him!

Since Mike really couldn't do much with Lincoln, like changing him and stuff like that, Linc went to Shilayna's to go play both Thurs and Fri. Mike went to the Dr to get his finger fixed up and ran some errands. It's so nice that he is able to be home during the week every few weeks. I feel like I can never get anything done! I freakin live at the hosp these days and it sucks! But it's ok, I'm learning a lot and this wont be forever. I'm just so tired and the house is a MESS!

Mike's friend came college and his family came and stayed with us this weekend. We played games, the boys went shooting, us girls went to a movie (Nights in Rodanthe, so good!), and went crawdad fishing. I finally got to go this time. We have lived here for a year and a half with Flaming Gorge 20 min away and this was the first time I've been! It was pretty fun. It was already dark when we got there, so I didn't see much. But I just love those little crabs. Creepy, but cool! I finally used my little backpack thing for Linc to be in. I wish I had some pics, he was so cute in it. And that thing is so convenient! Hopefully now I'll get out more with him and Mike.

It was so nice to have Sunday to hang out after church with just my little family. I didn't get a break this whole week until then. We napped and got caught up on all the new Prison Breaks, which by the way, Wahoo! TV is back! Greys was so good! Yes I am a TV junkie and I love it! Desperate House Wives, Scrubs (please come back for one more season, I haven't heard yet!), The Office, and Private Practice are all must sees for me.

So anyways, Mike left for North Dakota on possibly a few jobs yesterday, so he just might be gone for the week, we'll see. It was like a 12 hour drive, I feel so bad for him! I hope he gets plenty of sleep while he's out there. I miss you Mikey!! Bonnie came over yesterday and today after work and we watched some more Gilmore Girls. It's getting to be a cute little show. And it's always fun to watch with someone.


I love Lincoln so much in the morning! He's such a sweet little boy. He just lays in there and sings to himself before I come get him. It makes me so happy:) ...

Lincoln is getting to be so funny. I just love the guy! Oh he climbed more than half of the stairs today! He climbed some for the first time the Sun before last, but hasn't really since today. Good boy! I'm trying to teach him the stairs so I don't have to worry about that. I swear this kids head! He bangs it on everything. He's going to be my tough little boy! Oh and speaking of "boy," I have decided that I don't want any girls. I want to be an all boy fam! I've been around way too many little girls lately that I just can't do it! Of course whatever if we have one, but if I could choose, NO! (Obiviously it was a crazy weekend!)

Never ending...

Oh my! This has been the 2nd week of working and I'm exhausted! I know, I know... Whine, whine... Well I've been very good at it this week! Someone even told me, "Well welcome to life!" I've been such a spaz! I'll try to be better... It has been fun coming home every night and see my sweet little baby! I get so excited! He's actually been a pretty good boy too. This week Marlene watched him twice, and Shilayna and Amanda both watched him once. They are so sweet to do this for us! They are going to watch him until I go part-time. At least he's going to be a used to having different people around. Oh yeah, and he now has two cute little teeth. I love them! It was a not so fun week before, but now he's much happier. And feeling much better. Yea, more sleep for Mommy and Daddy!

Anyways, Mike had to go to Casper a few days ago to get one of the trucks fixed. He ended up staying over night, so I had my friend Bonnie come over and we started watching Gilmore Girls, the first season. It's kind of cute; so maybe if we ever find the time, we can watch them all. We'll see...

Blah, blah, blah... I'm just hangin out at home. Mike is on a job and I'm hoping he'll be back tomorrow, so I'm just watching Friends (what else?!) and folding all kinds of laudry that has been sitting on the couches all week. I'm still reading Breaking Dawn! It's taken me FOREVER! Maybe I'll get to it tonight.

This little box was so funny today! We hadn't ever played with it yet, and this kid was laughing so hard! The video just doesn't do it justice!

Oh yeah! And congratulations Annie and Morgan! Lincoln has a new cousin (thank you Toni-inside joke)! We are so excited to see him at Christmas!

New Job:-(

I started my job last week. Oh my, this has been so hard! It was my 3rd day and my supervisor tells me she wants me full time for a couple months! I was so stressed! Oh course I said yes, but this is going to be so hard. I feel so bad being away from Linc so much. But we just have to get through these next few months and we'll be ok!

Mike left for a job in Utah on Tuesday. Once he finished it, he had to go straight to Colorado on another one. We finally got to see him on Friday evening, yea! I appreciate him around so much more when he's been gone for a while. And with this week, it was SO wonderful to see him! So then on Saturday instead of just hanging out and having a relaxing day, Mike got up early this morning with Linc and realized it was freezing in the house. The heater had gone out. So he spent all day downstairs in the crawlspace working on it. We finally called a guy to come fix it, and even he couldn't figure out what was wrong either. Awesome. So as of right now, too bad for us. It's not too bad right now because it's only cold in the mornings. Me and Mikey got to snuggle in blankets together last night and watch a movie, it was fun:) Oh, and 21, the movie, very good! I want to go to Vegas now! (Sunday night the 13th)

(Tuesday evening, the 16th, I'm awful at keeping up with everything) Oh and seriously I don't know how he knew this was a crazy week for Mike and I, but Linc has not been sleeping well at all! A few of the nights he woke up almost every hour, no joke! It was hard. Mike took him into the Dr yesterday and got some medicine. Mike is such a good Daddy! He called in to work and took care of Linc Monday (15th), and stayed to get the heater fixed. Which it is now, yea! Thanks so much Mike...

Craw Fish

This was just way too funny I had to take a picture! I walked away from him for a minute and he had gotten in my bag and pulled out a tampon. When I walked up to him he was just sucking on it and having so much fun with his new toy. Man I love this kid!!

I need to do better at writing things down more often. I say it's a crazy time, but it's always crazy, so I just need to organize my time better. We had some pretty fun weeks. Two days after Tyson and Danielle were here, Mike's friend Derrick came and stayed with us a few days. They went and played, explored around the area, and went fishing. They went fishing for craw fish one night. K those things are the coolest ever! I had never seen one before, so it was a huge shock to come home and see them all over my kitchen! I loved it! Ryan and Trevor (4 yrs old) went and had a blast too. Trevor was so dang cute with them! I'm so excited for Linc to get to go out and play with Daddy!

Before his friend got into town, Mike took me and Linc out shooting. It was pretty fun! I loved shooting the gun. I haven't done it in years! Mike shot a few prairie dogs but I missed:( I hope he'll take us again soon! I had another girl's night on Thursday. We planned it and then made it an Enrichment Night so some of the girls had a good excuse to come. (Of course there is always at least one husband who calls to find out where his wife is soon to be midnight! Never fails!) We went to Jen's in her backyard and sat around her campfire and just chatted. Candace, Ryan's wife, came with me. She is so cute. When we left at midnight, we came to my house to find the boys eating their delicious fish. It was a good night:)

Mike and I went to Utah Friday. We stopped at Sizzler in Bountiful to see Tenille and pick up some more yummy steaks and eat. It was so nice to get to sit down and enjoy a meal without the little man right by us. Tenille took him around and got to play with him a bit. We loved it. Linc was so happy to be with her too, it was cute.

Hi Mommy!

We were going to go back to Ogden and drop Lincoln off at my parent's so Ty and Daniel could watch him and we'd go to the temple there. Well, by the time we left it was 7:15pm they close at 8pm (I didn't know until later), oops! As we were pulling out of Sizz, I saw my aunt Lori! Random! To make a long story short, she ended up watching him for us (which I am so grateful for you have no idea!!) and we barely made it to the Bountiful temple with a few minutes to spare. It was wonderful and so worth the trip. We hadn't been to the Bountiful temple yet either, so it was extra special. We ended up getting home that night after 1am. It was a short trip, but wonderful and well worth the drive...

Mike has been sick the last few days (which makes me even more grateful we went to Ut!) so today he stayed home and got some rest. He got some meds from the doc, so hopefully he'll feel better soon. Toni came into town, so I went to lunch with her and Bonnie today at Don Pedros, then later tonight we went and helped her pack up her kitchen, she's moving:(

Anyways, it's been such an up and down few weeks it's crazy! I'm so nervous though! I'm starting my new job on Monday. Not the funnest thing starting over! I hope all goes well!!

Painting

We've been painting a lot! It's been so much fun with Mikey, but what a MESS for a few days! I don't have any pictures yet. I'll get them on here soon. Some areas still need a bit of work.

The beginning of last week me and Linc started out with going to see his Grandma Phister for a day. She wanted to see the little guy. I was going to help her do some canning, but we just ended up sitting around and chatting the whole time. Oh well!

The young women and men went repelling on some of the big rocks here in town. No I did not do it! I'm such a baby. But it was cool to get to watch the girls do it. When I got home from that, me and Linc last minute got to take my friend Toni to her parents in Price. We got there at 2am, crazy! I drove her truck back home. What is a 4 hour trip turned into 6 hours! Linc did pretty good, but 4 hours is a long time for a baby! But it was fun to meet Toni's fam.

Me and Linc went to the splash park on Friday with a bunch of friends. It was fun! It's probably going to be the last hot day; it is freezing now! He did super good in the water. I'm so excited for him to get bigger so he can actually run around and play.

Mike went on a couple jobs this week, his last one was all day Friday. Since he's been back he's been off and at home! Wahoo! It's been so so fun to have him around so much! He hasn't been able to be getting all his days off, so this has been a treat:) But of course I decided to start painting and didn't realize how huge it would be, so we stayed up almost 3am for 3 days in a row! We are exhausted, but it was fun to get to do it together. I wouldn't even be close if Mike didn't help me! I still have touch-ups to do, but we're relaxing for now.

Oh yeah, and it's also been a crazy week with Lincoln! He's finally teething and is not happy. The last few days he's been much better because one of them is finally breaking through, but the last week and the begining of this one has been awful! He woke up on the hour for a few nights in a row. K Linc, you're not a newborn anymore, act your age!! Just kidding:) No but seriously, I feel so bad for him. He's never had a runny nose yet. Poor kid, it never stops! We've been suctioning quite a few times a day so he can breath. Anyways, he's sure a sweetie still though. We're pretty lucky he's an ok kid. He is getting so big too! I can't believe he's already 8 months! Time is flying! The bigger he gets, the funner he's getting and I love it!
