What absolutely crazy last few days these have been!! So I was at my last day of work Tues and all of the sudden my water broke! Crazy! I was a bit upset at first, she wasn't supposed to come until the 1st! Ah! (her due date was July 6th, 13 days early) But I called my midwife to see if we had time to come to Ut. I was having no pain or contractions so she said to jump in the car and come on down.
My friend called Mike while I was getting things to leave and he wasn't answering. So we called Toni and had her run to the house to tell him to pack and get ready. My water broke at 2pm, I got home and we were on the road by 3pm. Lincoln was so cute, he was so excited running all over while we packed fast. He could tell something was up.
The whole drive to the hospital was wonderful! Our plan was to stop in Evanston if things started coming along, but nope. I had maybe 3 small contractions that I could barely even tell were there. It was actually a fun trip there, so exciting:) We pulled in just a few minutes past 5pm. Seriously, I know it was no accident! As we pulled into our parking spot at the hosp, I got my first big contraction. It was PERFECT timing. My family was there waiting for us to take Linc and Ty wheeled me upstairs.
After we finished with all the paperwork and getting into the room it was about 5:30pm. The nurses did their thing, and after just a bit the contractions started to get worse fast, so I got my epidural, which was wonderful! It wasn't even 30 minutes after I got it the nurse came to check me and she was ready to come. They were not excited because I only had about an hour of the antibiotic and needed 4 hrs, but she was not waiting any longer! She was born at 7:18pm! Fast little girl! I'm just so grateful that she waited until we got to the hospital to start coming! It was such a rush and so much fun.
Oh yeah, it took her a little longer to come out. She was face up and while I was pushing, her heart rate dropped a bunch, so they ended up using the vacuum. My midwife had to the Dr come in just in case, but she came out quick after that and was good. A little scary for a few seconds, but she was a trooper.
They kept her in transition for quite a while. Because I didn't get all the antibiotic they did a bunch of blood tests on her, which all came out good. They had to stick her 5 times to get an iv in. The second attempt in her head finally worked. I'm surprised Mike watched it! At least he stayed in the room with me this time while I got my epidural. Good job Mikey!:)
Her eyes were like this for a while after she came, it was like she was super alert and nervous.
It was super fun because Tenille was just across the hall from me! She had a c-section and had to stay longer with Koban, so we got to be there together and were discharged on the same day. It was esp fun for my family to be able to play with 2 babies at the same time.
Koban is such a darling!! I love his hair color! He totally looks like Jon!
So Lincoln. He is definitlely not a fan of her right now. At the hospital he hardly even looked at her. He whined and whined everytime he was around me. It was so weird knowing that we have 2 kids now! We are really going to try to give him a lot of attention. It was so funny, he woke up this morning and came downstairs and the look on his face when he saw her was awesome. It was like, "What!? She is still here!?" Every once in a while he will look at her, but not much. But I did notice when she cries he is very concerned. I'm sure he'll be ok sometime, please!
So happy to see his Mommy!
This was pretty much the only attention Linc gave her while in the hosp. Although, right after the pic he gave her a kiss, it was so sweet!
I don't know how she did it, but Lincoln finally fell asleep in my mom's arms after being super grumpy.
It was a precious moment!!
So... here we are! We came home Thursday evening with a new baby! Since we were planning on having her next week and doing all this fun stuff then, we are going to take advantage of a whole week wide open and go to St G! It will be fun to go spend some time with Mike's family with her. And I feel seriously 99% better than I did with Lincoln after I had him. It has been so good! I guess I also have some good drugs as well, but really this has been so fast and so good that it is unreal!
I don't know why the pic is sideways, but I can't fix it, oh well!

Lincoln was NOT happy at all. It was definitely bedtime. They said he was fine the whole time they had him. The only times he acted like this was when I was around. Little punk!
Aunt Kim and Sequoia, she gave her the cute outfit, which by the way, in all our frantic of packing and running out the door, nope, we didn't bring one little thing for her! Not even her carseat! What great parents! Luckily Tenille and Jon had an extra one and let us borrow it. Man on man!
